DUBROVNIK, CROATIA | I researched and wrote this episode, which begins in September of 2008, when a 21-year-old Australian woman went on a solo backpacking trip through Europe. After what was supposed to be a fun night out with other travelers from her hostel turned into a night shrouded in mystery and uncertainty. And with the police bungling her disappearance from the start, her body being found in a bay would only raise more questions. This is the story of Britt Lapthorne.
