Commercial content

In my experience in retail business management, I learned a few valuable lessons that definitely apply when it comes to creating content for commercial clients.

  • It’s important to understand people. Who is your audience? Where are they? What do they want?

  • Authenticity is essential. That means keeping it real, keeping your prospective clients interested and gaining their trust.

  • A sound knowledge of your market and the world of business helps too. That means building relationships, following through, knowing who you’re up against and what your edge is. It’s all about putting all the pieces together to gain a fuller picture.

  • And of course, some creative flair doesn’t go astray.

When it comes to creating commercial web content, I always aim to strike a balance between research, planning and effective storytelling.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

  • When was the last time you refreshed your web copy?
  • How often do you drill down into the data to look for missed opportunities or success stories you should replicate?
  • If your brand was a person, who would they be? How would they sound? How would they dress? Could it be time for a revamp?

How can I help?

  • Web content (website copy rewrites, blog ideas and articles)
