BINGHAMTON, NEW YORK & MANAGUA, NICARAGUA | I researched and wrote this episode, which begins in the months and weeks leading up to college graduation – some of the most daunting yet exciting times in a young person’s life. Beyond campus lies a whole new world that brings with it new challenges and life-changing experiences. For college graduates, the world truly is their oyster, with limitless possibilities as their adult life truly begins. But for one young woman who had so much potential and was on track to dedicating herself to changing people’s lives for the better, this dream would sadly never come true.
